HEBRON ENGINEERING CONTRACT AWARDED
A contract has been awarded for the front-end engineering on key components of the platform that will drill for oil at the Hebron oil field off Newfoundland's east coast.

HORIZON SHIPBUILDING WINS CORPS TOWBOAT ORDER
Horizon Shipbuilding, Inc., Bayou La Batre, Ala., has been awarded an $8.6m contract to acquire a welded steel hulled commercial standard inland river tow boat for the Army Corps of Engineers.

CONRAD INDUSTRIES AWARDED NEW CONTRACTS

Conrad Industries, Inc. has signed new contracts that bring its current backlog to approximately $70.3m, and includes two double skin tank barges, a crane barge, two inland towboats, and several deck and spud barges.

RAIL CAR ORDERS FOR GUNDERSON
The company will switch 175 workers from its ocean going marine barge production at Gunderson to new railcar production.

WORLD

ISLAND OFFSHORE ORDERS PSVS
Ulsteinvik, Norway, headquartered Island Offshore will use LNG fuel in two platform supply vessels ordered at STX Offshore Norway. The hulls will be built at the Braila shipyard in Romania, and outfitted in Brevik, Norway. The vessels are of Rolls-Royce UT776 CDG design.

KLEVIN MARITIME WINS ORDER FROM OLYMPIC SHIPPING
Olympic Shipping AS has ordered a Multi Purpose Field Supply and Construction Vessel at Kleven Maritime in Norway, with an option for a second ship.

DSME TO BUILD CHEMICAL TANKERS
Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering has won a $320m contract to build eight chemical carriers for Woodside Holding International Shipping.

AKER SOLUTIONS AWARDED MARULK TIE-IN OFFSHORE NORWAY
Statoil has awarded to Aker Solutions Marulk the tie-in to the floating production, storage and offloading vessel Norne.

SURVIVAL CRAFT WINS $7.7B LIFEBOAT CONTRACT
Marine safety specialist Survival Craft Inspectorate Ltd won offshore contracts potentially worth a total of $7.7B to supply new lifeboats that meet key upgrade requirements.

DELTAMARIN WINS DESIGN ORDER FOR CHINESE BUILT CSL BULKER
The contract with Chengxi Shipyard equates to approximately 40 man-years of work for Deltamarin.

WOOD GROUP AWARDED FEED CONTRACT AT JORDBAER FIELD
The field's proposed development calls for a stand-alone FPSO with two drill centers in a water depth of about 1,345 feet. Gas will be exported from the FPSO to an existing export pipeline system.

MULTI VESSEL BWT CONTRACT FOR HYDE
Hyde Marine has been awarded a contract from an unnamed major South Korean shipbuilder to supply ballast water treatment systems for several 157,000 dwt SuezMax crude oil tankers.

DAMEN VINASHIN SIPYARD STARTS CONSTRUCTION
Song Cam Shipyard has been allocated by Vinashin to act as the local partner in the construction and operation of the new shipyard which is a joint venture between Vinashin and Damen.

TANKER TO BE CONVERTED TO LNG FUELED PROPULSION
Tarbit Shipping of Sweden has signed a turnkey contract that will see Wärtsilä convert a ship's two main engines and supply it with a Wärtsilä LNGPac system for the storage of LNG onboard.

EC APPROVES ABU DHABI MAR TAKEOVER OF THYSSENKRUPP SHIPYARDS
A proposed merger between Abu Dhabi Mar and ThyssenKrupp Marine System has been cleared by the Commission under the EU Merger Regulations.
